Regal London, one of the capital’s foremost residential-led mixed-use developers, has acquired 100 and 100a Chalk Farm Road.
A significant commercial site next to the Roundhouse, the renowned live performance space in Camden Town, it has been vacant and unloved for a number of years.
In order to bring this crucial part of Camden back to life and to provide a more active and engaging space, Regal London plans to submit a planning application for a mix of office and residential uses including affordable housing in 2023. The first part of this process will be a comprehensive community engagement programme, kicking off this summer.
This is the next move in the mixed-use developer’s expansion within the M25, with development sites now located in seven boroughs across the capital including the regeneration of North Finchley town centre in Barnet and two sites in Brent, one a purpose-built student accommodation scheme and the other nearly 800 homes with over 33,000 sq ft of additional commercial space.
Regal London is committed to continuing to deliver on its sustainability strategy. Local people in every borough in which the developer is active can access a local Regal London Real Estate Academy delivered in partnership with Building Heroes. Each Academy delivers over £2m in social value per year and provides construction qualifications and access to employers for military veterans and their families, and for those who may find it challenging to get ahead in life. The first Academy launched in Watford earlier this year, the second in Brent this coming Autumn ahead of a Camden Academy once construction starts on site.
We are so excited to be embarking upon our first truly mixed use scheme in Camden. As a locally based business, this is a real treat to be able to breathe new life into this creative corner of Camden town.
The acquisition of 100 Chalk Farm Road is the next step in our wider regeneration mission. It provides an opportunity to deliver a really innovative scheme, that will bring our customary design flair together with our drive to bring value to our neighbours and wider stakeholders.Simon De Friend
