Grand Canal Apartments is a completed development, with stunning views of Regent’s Canal, comprising 76 new homes and 13,000 square feet of commercial space.
The new development breathed new life into the immediate area. The commercial units houses offices and a café, which in turn have a positive economic impact. The café provides a much needed meeting point for residents, and is enjoyed by people strolling along the canal as a place to relax, whilst the office occupiers increase footfall for other local amenities and create additional communities.
A DYNAMIC CANALSIDE COMMUNITY
The Grand Canal Apartments comprises two housing blocks totalling 76 apartments – 51 private residential and 25 social housing.
The canal side setting of the development is ideally located for The City of London, accessible on foot in just 30 minutes. The vision for the development was to enhance the surrounding local area and to provide convenient city living for a variety of purchasers with one and two bedroom apartments, as well as exclusive three bedroom penthouse suites.
In addition to the new homes, the development also incorporates nine ground floor offices spaces and a 50 space secure car park. The site is located on Regents Canal, within the conservation area of De Beauvoir, in the borough of Hackney, and it was therefore important that the exterior design reflected the style of the surrounding buildings. We worked creatively with our architects to accomplish this by incorporating similar stone and large windows, as well as allocating a terrace to each apartment, finished with iron railings.
