Lord Harrington appointed Chair of Regal

Regal announces that Lord Richard Harrington has been appointed to the Regal Board as its Non-Executive Chair to assist with the next phase of the residential-led mixed-use developer’s growth strategy.

Lord Harrington has extensive experience in the real estate sector, having run a development business for many years across residential, commercial and hotel sectors before entering politics.

Most recently, Lord Harrington led The Harrington Review of Foreign Direct Investment that was published in November 2023, making wide recommendations to reorganise government with the intention of attracting more foreign investment into the UK. During that Review, he interviewed more than 200 companies, sovereign wealth funds and pension funds from across the globe. Its recommendations were accepted by both the last and current Governments.

Lord Harrington’s political career began after being elected as the Conservative MP for Watford from 2010-2019. He served as the Prime Ministers Apprenticeship Advisor as well as Pensions Minister and Business and Industry Minister, before standing down in 2019. He was made a Life Peer in 2022 and most recently served as Minister of State (Minister for Refugees) jointly in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Home Office between March 2022 and September 2022. As part of his role, Lord Harrington created and pioneered the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship scheme.

On behalf of the Regal Board, I am delighted to welcome Lord Richard Harrington to Regal as our newly appointed Non-Executive Chair. Lord Harrington brings extensive and valuable experience across a range of sectors, including deep knowledge and understanding of the global investor community. I know he will provide immense strategic guidance and advice to the Regal Board as we seek to execute the next stage of our growth strategy
