A milestone for the world’s largest residential cross laminated timber (CLT) building, Dalston Works, was celebrated at a ‘Ribbon Cutting’ ceremony on Thursday, July 6th 2017.
The development, situated in Dalston, London Borough of Hackney, was declared officially open by Councillor Vincent Stops.
Dalston Works will provide significant residential capacity with 101 one, two and three bedroom homes for private rent, 15 homes for affordable rent and five for shared ownership – all of which have been designed in a luxurious contemporary style. The development also provides over 3,460 sqm of commercial space.
Sitting on Dalston Lane, Dalston Works is perfectly located next to some of London’s most sought-out bars, restaurants and shops, and is only a short walk from Dalston Junction Overground station.
As a responsible and innovative developer, Regal Homes is proud to deliver high quality homes for the rental market.
This is a pivotal moment in our history as our first project in the private rented sector, Dalston Works, is declared open. We are passionate about a development that offers a genuine long-term rental solution for Londoners, whether it be local families or London professionals.

This building shows great design and construction – a high quality, mixed use development of all tenures. I am sure it will soon be buzzing with both residents, its new commercial tenants and visitors to the retail. The building’s environmental credentials are second to none. Constructed with mass timber, it’s the most significant development of its kind in the world, in Dalston!
