The Haydon 1BR Living Room

CASE STUDY
The Compton in 2016 is one of the first cast metal clad buildings of its scale in Europe. A series of projecting bays with intricate leaf motif embossed panels run vertically, with the curvature producing a distinctive and seamless façade reminiscent of the nearby mansion blocks. With emphasis on both the aesthetics and the functionality of the structure, over 1,000 designs were developed for the patterns of the aluminium bays.

The shortlist was then assessed in terms of texture and outline, to ensure that they would capture the right amount of light on the surface of the building. This architecturally striking apartment building completed in 2018 and is now an integral part of the St John’s Wood landscape.
